ENVI SARscape Extracts Damage from Beirut Explosion
A massive explosion rocked the port area of Beirut, Lebanon on August 4th. The Sentinel-1 sensor operated the European Space Agency (ESA) captured Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data of the area soon afterwards. SAR data has the ability to capture data at night and see through smoke and cloud cover proving especially useful to assess damage after a disaster. Read more here
